Virginia Beach is the largest city in the state of Virginia and is also a favorite locale for residence and vacationing alike. Virginia Beach, despite the name, is so much more than some beautiful beachside destination. While Virginia Beach does in fact feature the beach and is a great Spring Break getaway, here are some of the other great features of this gorgeous city!
First of all, you don’t have to be the energetic party animal to enjoy this wonderful place. Bear in mind, if that is, in fact, the type of person you are, there is plenty on offer for you as well. But those who like to relax and just take in the raw beauty of nature and so on, Virginia Beach is perfect for you as well.
Some examples of the more relaxing things to do in Virginia Beach are taking a cruise and checking out the lush water and skies of this precious area. There is also plenty of marine life to check out, such as dolphins and pelicans.
There are also a few state parks in the Virginia Beach area that should not be missed. This is also a great way to find some peace and quiet when the time is right. Check out the Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge to experience the diversity of landscape Virginia Beach offers.
Another great location not to miss is the Old Coast Guard Station, featuring shipwrecks from years past. It’s downright fascinating to look
at! There is also a shop which carries lots of ocean related items.
For the sports enthusiast, Virginia Beach is excellent. Check out the water sports (obviously!) and you’ll also love golfing there if you are a golfer. Do you like to go diving? Virginia Beach has it! You can do training, too—no experience needed! There are also tons of water parks for the entire family to have a great adventure! These offer increased safety! Surfers love the Billabong Competition, and they flock from all over the US for this even every summer!
With all of that said, it’s worth mentioning that Virginia Beach is, of course, a gorgeous location to go to the beach! If you love to swim, boat, sunbathe, cook out, play volleyball, sip on a cold beverage, and just soak in the coastline, Virginia Beach will give you that vacation feel even if you choose to live here! Watch the waves crash in and let your worries just melt away.
Another place to get up and go to after a few days on the beach is the vast array of museums such as the Virginia Air & Space Museum, Nauticus, and the Virginia Aquarium. There is so much to see and experience in Virginia Beach! There are tons of restaurants, both upscale and affordable ones, depending on your budget.
As you can see, there are endless things to do and see in the beautiful city of Virginia Beach, Virginia. Virginians will welcome you with open arms, and you’ll practically never want to leave once you get here!
